6th Street’s Iron Cactus

Last Tuesday I helped celebrate my friend, Becca’s 21st birthday. A group of friends got together at Sixth Street and Trinity to spend time with her at the Iron Cactus! (Becca and I pictured on the right) I had never been to the Iron Cactus before, but I’ve heard good things. It is Mexicanish American restaurant with a lot of tasty menu options such as crab cakes, tacos, enchiladas, meat loaf, and burgers. You would think I would have ordered a signiture dish, but I didn’t. I think I was just really craving a burger. However the burger I ordered was no ordinary burger it was the Laredo Burger. It consisted of goat cheese and caramelized onions! I don’t even like onions, but that all sounded good to me! I’m craving it just talking about it! It was actually really devine. The goat cheese and onions worked well together to make a juicy burger. The chips and queso we’re good too. Althought I didn’t try anything else, I would recommend the Iron Cactus to others because I hear it is normally packed. So next time I will be trying something else maybe the lobster tacos. Maybe.
